Transpack is a long-established family-run packaging and polythene supplier – and we recently celebrated our 65th anniversary! Based in Totton, Southampton, we are situated right on the edge of the picturesque New Forest, but our items have travelled far across the world from Iceland to Hungary, and beyond.
Transpack started life as Transatlantic Plastics in 1953 in a single-room shop on Fulham Palace Rd in London, selling small quantities of Polythene bags with, or so the story goes, a shoebox for a till.
By the late 60's and early '70s, Transatlantic Plastics had grown to become not only one of the largest suppliers of polythene bags, but also sold secondary double glazing, gardening, and DIY products in the South of England. We were supplying companies such as the Forestry Commission, various police forces, many hospitals and even British Airways with front-wheel covers for the Concorde. We also had a manufacturing and special fabrications plant at Ventnor on the Isle of Wight and 18 retail shops!
In 1977 Transatlantic Plastics supplied miles and miles of red, white & blue polythene for flags and bunting for the Queens Silver Jubilee. In the early 80's we opened two new shops in the South and two more in the Midlands with a large warehouse at Daventry. We also had a regular stand at the Chelsea Flower Show supplying polythene sheeting and other goods to avid gardeners.
The majority of our retail shops have since closed and Transatlantic Plastics has evolved into Transpack Ltd - expanding its ranges into the wide array of packaging and gift packaging products that you see on the current website today.
What We Do Now
We supply packaging materials wholesale to small businesses, blue-chip companies and individual customers alike, working predominantly (although not wholly) with UK based manufacturers which means we can despatch large orders to you quickly. We are proud to support local and nationwide businesses, and if you are too then look for the Union Flag next to our items on their product pages – that means the item was made right here in Great Britain.
We are more than happy to offer advice on packaging solutions to suit your business and can be contacted via phone, email, fax, or post. We'll provide you with as much information as we can – and we have recently invested in a new website with improved features to do just that.
Transpack uses the latest systems and technology to make sure the ordering process is as simple as possible and recent investment in a new ordering and stock control system has made your experience even better.

How We Do It
We stock high-quality products in large volumes and on average 99% of our products are in stock at any one time. If something is out of stock don’t worry – we don’t like to let our customers down and will get what you need back into stock as quickly as possible. Coupled with our speedy delivery service, this means that approx. 96% of our deliveries reach our customers the next working day. We use reliable courier services, meaning that your goods are trackable from order to delivery. Deliveries sent with DPD will be allocated a one-hour time slot - so you won't have to wait in all day.
Our team here at Transpack are a friendly bunch, who offer the best possible advice. We will always be honest, even if it, unfortunately, means we can't help you. If you have made a mistake with your order we will help you put it right - returns and refunds are easily arranged, and we offer a sample service if you aren’t sure ahead of time what you need.
